Weekly Wishes #5 - Self-Centering

Last week my only wish was to get more sleep and I definitely think I accomplished that. It may seem like a simple task but trust me, it's easier said than done. While most days I stuck to my new nap routine, other days I found myself falling into old habits. But hey, practice makes perfect and I'll definitely be keeping this up.

This week I feel is the perfect time for me to switch gears and focus more on myself. It's very easy for me to get caught up in making those around me happy without giving myself much attention. I feel like this wish couldn't have come at a better time. Today is my boyfriend's birthday and I've been consumed over the last week and a half with buying, transporting, and hiding his rather large present. Coincidentally, he will be attending a conference later this week, leaving me to own devices. But what are those exactly?

This week is to remind myself of the pre-serious relationship Jordan. What would she do with all of this free time? Catch up on reading or her favorite shows? Blog? Hang out with friends? I'm not sure just yet, but every step of the way I'll make sure to keep you posted on Twitter.

My wish this week is to focus on myself and any and everything that makes me happy. Challenge accepted.

Remember to head over to The Nectar Collective to join Melyssa and many other fantastic bloggers in making a wish for the week.

  1. What a great goal! As much as we're taught to put others ahead of ourselves, I think that's hard to do when we're not taking care of ourselves, too.

  2. Haha I like your goal for last week. I could use a bit more ZZZs but I've been staying up to watch TV.
Yep, taking care of yourself is important and it's great that you're putting that on your list. :)

    1. I'm guilty of staying up to watch TV too haha! I'm working on it one step at a time.

  3. Though it is great to be in a relationship, I also think that this goal is important. Good for you for realizing that you also need time to do the things you did before! I also feel this way sometimes and just want to spend time each week alone. Good luck!
