Started From The Bottom: My Summer 2013 Goals

Since I have returned home for summer break, I have really been struggling internally. I haven't had a clear focus on what I want to do with myself this summer and not having a clear plan bothers me. I thought I would be able to go with the flow and let things happen as they may, but something tells me that won't reap the results that I want. So, I'm starting from scratch, from the bare bottom. I'm going back to using the most simple method that I was taught as a child from my mom, which is making a goals list. Typically I would just jot this down in my phone or on a stickies note on my Mac, but I thought I would share this with you. Hopefully my foggy start will help us both get a clear direction for the rest of the summer.

• Quit working at Bath and Body Works
• Find a higher paying position
• Spend quality time with my friends
• Visit my boyfriend in Philadelphia
• Go to Puerto Rico!
• Move in with my dad in DC
• Apply for more scholarships!
• Visit NYC, for real this time
• Go to Kings Dominion
• Start a Youtube channel, perhaps
• Convince my mom to let me move off campus*

This list is totally spontaneous. I feel it's better to write goal lists this way because it typically results in more honest, candid answers. So that's it for now! If I think of any other goals I want to complete I will add them and as I accomplish these goals I will cross them off. Feel free to start your own list. I'm sure you'll be surprised how much more you will achieve!

*This one scares me.

Fashion Faux Pas

Hey lovely people. First off I hope all of you had a lovely Valentine's Day, whether it was a romantic day with the one you love or a chill day with you and your friends.

I want to apologize for the lack of a Fashion Fridays post yesterday. As it would happen Thursdays are my busiest day of the week so my boyfriend surprised me and postponed our celebration until Friday. I know it's no excuse but I didn't want to leave you in the dark.

I'm sure you'll be happy to know that we had a wonderful time and if you would like to see pictures from our evening just let me know.

If You're Coming, Come On

If you must know the truth, I sat down to my computer with full intentions of writing a wonderful, heartfelt introduction to my new blog. Now that I'm here, however, it's not quite working out that way. That's fine, most things usually don't go as planned. All that being said I'll just leave it at this: The purpose of this blog is to help me discover and hone my interests. That's right. This is a self-centered blog. Don't say I didn't warn you. My hope is that while I'm on this path of discovery that you also uncover something new and wonderful about yourself. Sure it may be a bit cliché, but I want to go on this journey together.

I must admit I'm not completely lost here. I've come prepared with a slightly worn map for this journey. After all I know six things for sure: I love my family, my friends,  beauty, fashion, music, and writing. Those are essentially the core of who I am, and here is where I will come to express that.
